A former Hazard Middle School teacher has reportedly been indicted for sexual abuse.
WYMT reports Monty C. Salyer II faces charges that include subjecting a minor to
sexual contact while being a person in a position of authority or special trust.
Officials allege he also tampered with evidence by destroying or altering social media apps that could have been used as evidence.
The attorney for Hazard Independent School says Salyer resigned from his job after the incident came to light in early August.
