You can now use free wifi in some areas of Downtown Harlan.
The Executive Director of the Harlan County Economic Development Authority, which is called “One Harlan County,” tells WYMT a good internet connection is difficult to find downtown and has been a barrier for folks for navigation and other purposes.
He and other city officials think boosting it will also help with tourism. There are five transmitters where you can hit the free service – one on top of the courthouse and four on various lampposts.
Raines says they have two mobile units they can bring out to use during events.
