Governor Announces State Grants For Projects Using Recycled Rubber

Several communities will be receiving state grants to create projects using recycled rubber.

Last week Governor Andy Beshear announced nearly $850,000 from the Waste Tire Trust Fund for 23 counties to transform old tires into park benches, picnic tables, landscaping, parking curbs, playground surfaces and much more.

The Hazard Herald reports Perry County’s Buckhorn School will get funding for a Poured-In-Place Playground, Letcher County’s Fish Pond Lake Area for new Picnic Tables and Harlan’s
Friends of Benham Coal Miner’s Memorial Park also for new Picnic Tables.
