Grand Jury Indicts Pike County Man on Murder Charges

A murder indictment has been handed down by the Pike County grand jury for a Sidney
man accused in a fatal shooting in July.

When Clifford Triplett was arrested July 13, he was charged with second-degree manslaughter in the death of James Mounts.

Triplett had told investigators at the time that the two had been fighting when his gun
accidentally went off.

Following his arraignment for the manslaughter charge, he was released from custody.

But apparently when the grand jury heard the evidence, they decided to elevate the charge and indict Triplett for murder.

He was re-arrested this week and was being held without bond in the Pike County Detention Center.
