Grand Jury to Hear Evidence in Deadly Floyd County Shooting

A grand jury will hear the case against a Floyd County man accused of murder in a shooting incident last week.

Larry Johnson was arrested in connection with the death of Steven Adkins on April 25 in Auxier.

Yesterday Johnson appeared in court with the judge ruling his case shows probable cause to be seen by a grand jury.

WYMT reports a Kentucky State Police Detective who testified Monday said according to witnesses, Adkins stopped Johnson in his car to confront him about a personal matter and that led to a fist fight with Johnson then allegedly pulling a gun from his car and shooting Adkins.

Johnson then fled the scene and was found the next day.

Some of the witnesses described the situation as self-defense.

Johnson is being held on a $5 million bond.
