Harlan County Man Arrested After Standoff With Police

A Harlan County man has been arrested after a standoff with police. The Sheriff’s Office says Wednesday morning deputies were serving felony warrants to Jonathan Mitchell at a home in Cranks when he barricaded himself in the attic. He had apparently dropped a rifle while getting into the crawl space in the attic. A KSP Trooper tried to negotiate with Mitchell but when deputies deployed a poll camera and realized Mitchell was not armed, they let a community member come up and talk him into surrendering. Mitchell is charged with wanton endangerment, evading, probation violations, and more
