Hazard Independent Schools has gotten a $25,000 grant to buy some new band instruments.
Band Director Jordan Boggess tells WYMT the Steel Reese Foundation grant will replace some of the aging instruments that kids have to borrow when they play in the band.
She says first they will replace the marching drums for around $13,000 and then hopes to get some new wind instruments.
She hopes to have the new instruments at the school by Hazard High’s Homecoming.
