The City of Hazard is looking for solutions to some trouble at the wastewater treatment plant. At their meeting this week the City Manager told the Hazard City Commission that the plant is not properly breaking down the solids and it’s backing up the pump system. The Hazard Herald reports the city is looking at other options for waste disposal but it’s very expensive. The City Manager emphasizes there is no danger to the public and they are working with the state’s Energy and Environment Cabinet to ensure public safety.
