High School Softball Update

The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars softball team is playing daily games all this week through Saturday in the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  

The Lady Cougars took Tuesday’s game in dramatic fashion, with an 8-7 walk-off victory over Independence, Ohio.

The game was tied at seven in the bottom of the 7th when a Kailey Bentley hit to shortstop caused a fielding error, allowing Scarlett Stamper to score from third for the winning run. 

The Lady Cougars will face Elk Lake High School out of Springfield PA at 9:00am Wednesday morning.

They will play then two games on Thursday, facing Buckeye High School out of Ohio at 11:15am and then take on Northmont High School also from Ohio at 1:30pm.  

The Jenkins Lady Cavaliers softball will next play at Buckhorn Wednesday night at 6:00pm
