Most of the residents of Knott County’s new higher ground community Chestnut Ridge have moved into their new homes.
On Friday 15 of 18 families got keys to homes to replace those lost in the July 2022 flood.
WYMT reports the other three families are set to move in this Friday.
The homes were built by Samaritan’s Purse with money for the neighborhood infrastructure and homes coming from state and federal funding, nonprofits, and private donors including the landowners Joe and Kelly Craft.
