A Letcher County man and his mother were pronounced dead at the scene following a house fire in Jackhorn that occurred late last Friday.
Neon Fire Department officials say they responded to 669 Morgan Lane in Jackhorn around 10:30pm Friday but according to Letcher County Coroner the bodies weren’t recovered until early Saturday morning.
Fowler named the victims as 78 year old Mary Alice Adams and 59 year old Jeffery Lynn Sexton.
Both of Adams’ and Sexton’s bodies were sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy but no foul play was suspected from the fire.
Funeral services are being conducted by the Everidge Funeral Home in Whitesburg.
