Increase in Flu, Strep, Covid and Other Respiratory Illness Across The Mountains

There are a lot of bugs going around right now. Kentucky River District Health Department Public Health Director Scott Lockard tells WYMT they are seeing an increase in flu, strep, COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses and they urge you to stay home if you’re sick and keep your kids home from school if they are sick. Lockard also washing your hands regularly and not sneezing or coughing in your hands can help slow the spread. And he says it’s important to stay up to date with vaccinations.
