There is still no known cause for the Friday night house fire that killed a Letcher County woman and her son. The Mountain Eagle reports the house was engulfed and nearly already destroyed when Neon Volunteer Fire Department firefighters arrived around 10:30 p.m. The Letcher County Coroner says 78-year-old Mary Alice Adams and her 59-year-old son Jeffrey Lynn Sexton were both found dead in different rooms. The Coroner tells the paper the State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause but foul play is not suspected.
