Some Jenkins residents want the city to take more action over a pack of dogs in the area.
At this week’s City Council meeting, dozens of citizens who live at or near the Jenkins School Apartments, which is an over-55 assisted-living building, asked for help with the pack that have reportedly been attacking people over the last couple of months.
The Mountain Eagle reports the Police Chief says the city does not have the equipment or training to deal with the dogs and it’s up to Letcher County Dog Warden to handle it
but did confirm the dogs are all owned by a resident who has been given a citation.
