As Whitesburg officials continue the long-awaited renovation of the Daniel Boone Hotel, another abandoned Letcher County building could be converted into a hotel.
The Jenkins City Council has reportedly approved a resolution to support a plan to renovate the former Elkhorn Country Club.
The Mountain Eagle reports Jonathan and Esther Brooke Tucker have proposed a plan to turn the damaged vacant building into a 10-room hotel, wedding and event venue, and possibly someday a golf course.
They are reportedly hoping to get Abandoned Mine Lands Economic Revitalization money.
