Jenkins Independent Schools announced yesterday the hiring of Danny Bates as the new Head Boys Basketball Coach for the Jenkins Cavaliers!
Coach Bates is a coaching veteran and takes over for the very successful Winston Lee, who stepped down as Jenkins head coach earlier this year, to spend more time with his family.
According to the press release: Coach Bates brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of building successful programs at every level of the game. Most notably, he led Whitesburg High School to a 14th Region Championship and a KHSAA Elite 8 appearance, earning 14th Region Coach of the Year honors. He’s also won Multiple Middle School & AAU Championships.
