Jenkins city leaders are urging residents to help keep the town clean, starting with your own yard. Mayor Todd DePriest tells WYMT it’s not just a matter of pride in your home and neighborhood but it can also impact economic development. He says when potential developers come in, they don’t just look at the proposed building sites, they look around the whole city. There are two official city-wide clean up initiatives: from April 15 to May 10, you can place unwanted items on your curb to be picked up. And then on April 27 there will be a city-wide clean up day with volunteers helping out around town
