Work continues to upgrade the City of Jenkins’ wastewater treatment plant.
Mayor Todd DePriest tells WYMT they have two infiltration and inflow projects they are working on to keep up the functions of the 30-year-old plant.
But he says what they really need to do is increase the capacity of the plant but that’s going to be more difficult because they don’t yet have the proper funding.
He says they are applying for grants to help fix some of the ongoing issues which have been cropping up about once a month.
