A church group from Knox County has made its annual trip to Letcher County to help out school kids.
This is the fifth year First Baptist Church Artemus has come to Letcher County for its annual mission trip to offer a vacation bible school and give away backpacks with school supplies as well as some clothing.
The event took place Saturday at Calvary Campus on Highway 7 South at Letcher.
The Pastor tells WYMT the goal is to make sure kids have what they need to be successful in school and to take some of the burden off of the parents in making that happen.
