Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of an 11-year-old Letcher County boy
who apparently drowned in the North Fork of the Kentucky River Tuesday afternoon.
As we reported yesterday Curtis Halcomb of Blackey was found and pulled from the water
around 2:30pm and pronounced dead a short time later.
The Mountain Eagle reports he was found in the river behind Mt. Olivet Old Regular Baptist Church about 20 minutes after his aunt reported him missing.
There was no school Tuesday due to the election.
