KY Court of Appeals Denies Bond Reduction in Amber Spradlin Murder Case

The Kentucky Court of Appeals has said no to reducing the bond for a high profile murder suspect.

M.K. McKinney of Martin is charged with murder in the death of Amber Spradlin of Prestonsburg in 2023.

He is being held in the Floyd County Detention Center on a $5 million bond.

His attorneys appealed to the state calling the bond excessive but this week the Appeals Court ruled to uphold the Trial Judge’s decision.

McKinney’s father and a family friend are also facing charges for allegedly tampering with evidence.
