The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources is asking you to be on the lookout for wild turkeys.
They say with the native population on the decline they are doing a count and are asking that if you see a wild turkey between now and August 31 to let them know.
Officials tell the Mountain Eagle that monitoring the turkey flock for its long-term conservation depends on teamwork and then want hunters and wildlife enthusiasts to help them by reporting turkey sightings.
