Kentucky Power is reportedly getting ready to ask the state if they can raise rates.
Late last month the company notified the Kentucky Public Service Commission that it intends to ask for a rate adjustment this month.
The Hazard Herald reports on the rate hike in January 2024, KP asked for an 18.3% raise and the PSC approved 5.7%.
They have not yet said what they would be requesting this time.
However, Kentucky Power also announced last month they’ve launched two new energy efficiency programs to help residential and business customers lower electric usage and therefore reduce bills.
