Lady Cougars Streak Snapped in Loss

In high school softball, Scarlett Stamper struck out 14 batters, but the Letcher County Central Lady Cougars couldn’t find any offense and fell to Johnson Central 3-0 in Paintsville on Monday.

Stamper allowed five hits and three runs over six innings while walking none.

The loss snaps the Lady Cougars 12 game win streak and they fall to 17-7 overall.

The LCC girls will next play a district doubleheader at home against Cordia this evening with the first game at 6:00pm.

The Jenkins Lady Cavaliers softball got 12 runs in the first inning and went on to win 15-0 over East Ridge at home last night.

The 15-6 Lady Cavaliers will play at Harlan Independent this evening at 6:00pm.
