Lawsuit Filed Against Truck Driver and Mining Company After Crash on KY 7 South

A lawsuit has been filed against a mining company and one of its truck drivers for a crash on KY-7 in Perry County last month.

It happened on June 18 when Janet Hendrix’s car was allegedly hit by a truck driver who was reportedly operating for Blackhawk Mining LLC.

WYMT reports the attorney for Hendrix, who has multiple broken bones and internal injuries, says it’s not just about getting compensation for her but also about getting truck drivers to obey the speed limit and get police to enforce those limits.

An official with the Perry County Sheriff’s Office says for years they have gotten complaints about big trucks speeding on KY-7.
