LCC Meet The Cougars is Monday Night

Here’s the mountain high football scoreboard with round 3 of the playoffs and region championships from Friday night:

Class 1 A

Pikeville over Middlesboro 34-14

Class 2 A

Somerset beat Shelby Valley 56-20

and Beechwood shutout Martin County 55-0

Class 3 A

Bell County hung on to get by East Carter 38-36 in overtime

In this game, Daniel Thomas of Bell County now holds the all-time state record for most rushing yards in a single season:

3,446 YARDS

A record that stood for 54 years and previously belonged to Frank Jones – 3,361 Yards for Bath County in 1969.

also in class 3A it was, Lexington Catholic over Rockcastle County 43-7

Class 4 A

The 1 team in the state Boyle County got by the #2 team in the state, Corbin 21-14

Covington Catholic blanked Johnson Central 31-0

Class 5 A

Cooper beat Pulaski Southwestern 24-14

and Highlands over North Laurel 30-7

It’s Meet the Cougars Monday night at Letcher County Central High School.

It all begins at 6:00pm at the LCC gym.  

Boys and girls basketball teams and all the winter sports will be introduced.   

Admission is $5.00 for everyone.
