Leslie County could get some help under a federal disaster declaration signed by President Joe Biden Wednesday for the storms that hit Kentucky in May.
The declaration says federal funding will be available to local governments and certain
private nonprofits for emergency work needed after the severe storms that brought
straight-line winds, tornadoes, and mudslides.
The storms brought down many trees and power lines and damaged some homes, particularly near Hyden.
