The Letcher Central Middle School Cougars are 2-0 now after playing in the ER Hammonds Cougarama Classic Saturday at the Gose-Chandler Field.
The LCMS 7/8 grade Cougars took care of Powell County 34-0.
For the victorious Cougars:
Trigg Whisenant had 2 rushing touchdowns
Jamarcus Higgins had 2 receiving touchdowns
Drake Wright had 1 receiving touchdown
Connor Smith threw 2 passing TD’s
Baylor Barker threw 1 passing TD
Will Reynolds had an interception and Chance Adams picked up a fumble recovery to lead the defense.
The LCMS 5/6 grade Cougars also won beating Cumberland in the first game of the day.
The Middle School Cougars return to action tomorrow, Tuesday at home against Floyd Central. 5/6 grade kicks off at 6:00pm with 7/8 grade to follow.
The 0-2 Fleming Neon middle school football Pirates will next play Lawrence County this Thursday August 28.
