Last night at Cordia, Letcher County Central took on Knott County Central for the baseball 53rd District title.
It was a pitchers duel through 5 innings until the LCC Cougars broke it open in the 6th with 4 runs scored to take a 5-0 lead and then held on for the championship game shutout win.
Dawson Kincer, Kaleb Slone, and Clay Hall each collected two hits, Slone and Kincer had 2 RBI each.
Quinten Williams got the win on the mound, striking out 10 while giving up five hits and zero runs over seven innings while walking one.
“Q”‘Quinten Williams was named the district tournament MVP.
This is the third straight 53rd District Title for Letcher County Central baseball.
