Letcher County Food Pantry Seeing More People While Food Supply Shrinks

More people are apparently seeking help from the Letcher County Food Pantry while
the food supply to the Pantry is reportedly shrinking.

Director Vicki Holbrook and Secretary/Treasurer Harold Bolling tell the Mountain Eagle while they have been fortunate to get some good grants, there is a lot less food available because in March the U.S. Department of Agriculture made significant cuts to the list of commercial farms allowed to provide local fresh produce to schools and food pantries.

They say they are getting help in food donations from Dollar Stores, Food City, and Walmart.
