Letcher County Student Competes for National “America’s Favorite Student” Title

A young man from Letcher County is in the running for the national “America’s Favorite Student” contest.

America’s Favorite Student invites students to compete for $20,000, an appearance in Reader’s Digest, and a personal tour of The Planetary Society from Bill Nye The Science Guy.

Six-year-old David Cole Brown is homeschooled.

His mom tells WYMT he is on the autism spectrum but when he was in preschool, he tested at the academic level of a third- or fourth-grader.

Voting for America’s Favorite Student is free and ends May 21 at the website https://americasfavstudent.org
