Several local leaders have had a chance to talk with Congressman Hal Rogers as well as representatives from the US Army Corps of Engineers about future flood prevention.
WYMT reports on Friday Rogers and the Corps met with county leaders to talk about infrastructure upgrades, many of which the Corps will be overseeing.
Rogers also agreed with several county officials that another priority is to clean up the streams and other waterways and maybe even dredge some of them.
The Corps is currently in the midst of a flood risk assessment for nine counties bordering the Kentucky River.
