Hazel Alene Brock

Hazel Alene Brock, age 79, of Pert Creek, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at her residence. 

Funeral services for Hazel Alene Brock will be held at 1:00pm this afternoon, Friday, June 28, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Visitation will be at 10:00am this morning, Friday, until the time of service at 1:00pm at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Burial will follow in the Brock Family Cemetery at Pert Creek.

The Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg is in charge of the arrangements.

U.G. “Gene” Horn

U.G. “Gene” Horn, age 93,  of Dry Fork, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at his residence.

He is survived by one son: Chester David Horn;  daughter-in-law Valerie Ison Horn; grandchildren; Callie Blair, Grant Horn,  Amy Horn and Kaitlyn Horn; 4 great grandchildren; siblings: Lou Ann Hammonds, Nancy Collier, and F.D. Horn; sister-in-law, Ida Cureton Wright and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for U.G. “Gene” Horn will be held at 1:00pm tomorrow, Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Frank Holbrook officiating. 

Visitation will be after 6:00pm this evening, Friday, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Burial will follow in the Thornton Cemetery at Thornton.

Sabrina Sexton Mullins

Sabrina Sexton Mullins, age 51, of Shelby Gap, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at her residence. 

She is survived by her parents Avis Sexton Jr and Diana Cantrell Sexton; one daughter: Kensley Dawn Mullins of Letcher County; one brother: Christopher Lee Sexton of Letcher County and three grandchildren.

Funeral services for Sabrina Sexton Mullins will be held at 7:00pm this evening, Friday, June 28, 2024 at the Hall & Jones Funeral Home, Jenkins Chapel with Danny Quillen officiating. 

Visitation will begin this evening, Friday, after 6:00pm at the Hall and Jones Funeral Home Jenkins Chapel.

The Hall and Jones Funeral Home Jenkins Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Sam Smith, Jr.

Sam Smith, Jr., also known as Uncle Junior, age 83, of Linefork, passed away on Wednesday, June 27th, 2024.   

He is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm Sunday, June 30th, 2024, at the Cumberland Valley Funeral Home in Cumberland with church services beginning at 7:00pm Sunday with Mark Lewis and Billy Lewis. 

Funeral Services for Sam Smith, Jr. will be held at 12:00 noon Monday, July 1, 2024, at the Cumberland Valley Funeral Home with Glenn Cornett officiating.

Burial will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery at Linefork.

The Cumberland Valley Funeral Home of Cumberland is in charge of the arrangements.

Bishop Willie Lamb

Bishop Willie Lamb, age 100, of McRoberts, passed away in Akron, Ohio, on Saturday, June 22, 2024. 

Memorial services for Bishop Willie Lamb will begin at 12:00PM on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the Church of God Militant Pillar and Ground of Truth in Akron, Ohio.

Visitation will begin on Saturday July 6 at 11:00am until the time of service at the Church. 

Mr. Lamb will be transported from OH to KY on July 7.  

A visitation will take place on Monday July 8 from 12:00 noon to 8:00pm at the Millstone Missionary Baptist Church. 

Arrangements are under direction of the Rhoden Memorial Home in Akron, Ohio and Courtesy of the Everidge Funeral Home of Whitesburg.

Linda Ann Toler Dales

Linda Ann Toler Dales, age 42, of Jenkins passed away June 15, 2024, at her residence in Harriman, Tennessee. 

She is survived by her husband: Joshua Dales of Tennessee; one daughter: Joshalynn Dales of Tennessee; two biological daughters: Robbin and Angelica Carter of Virgina; one sister: Stephanie Carter; one nephew: Mackenzie Carter of Virginia, one great nephew and two great nieces.

Memorial services for Linda Toler Dales will be held at the Hall and Jones Funeral Home Jenkins Chapel, on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 7:00pm.

Visitation will be at the Hall and Jones Funeral Home Jenkins Chapel after 5:00pm on Tuesday July 2, 2024.
