Ruby Lee Profitt, age 78, of Ermine, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024 at her residence.

Ruth Ann (Blair) Brown

Ruth Ann (Blair) Brown, age 75, of Jeremiah, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024, at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard. 

She is survived by two sons: Roland Brown II of Blackey and Rick Brown of Colson; two daughters: Melody Helton of Pineville and Toni Maggard of Whitesburg; son in law: John Morton of Jeremiah; grandsons: Ryan Morton, Malachi Brown, and Gregory Maggard; 1 brother: Larry Blair of Jeremiah; 1 sister: Brenda Woods of Allen and sister in law: Cat Blair of Jeremiah.

Funeral services for Ruth Ann (Blair) Brown will be held at 1:00pm Sunday, January 28, 2024, at the Blair Branch Old Regular Baptist Church with Don Pratt, Roy Slone, Toby Breeding, and Elwood Cornett officiating. 

Visitation will be from 6:00-10:00pm this evening, Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Burial will follow in the Mary A. Blair Cemetery at Jeremiah.

George Frank Johnson

George Frank Johnson, age 73, of Dunham passed away Tuesday January 23, 2024 at his residence. 

He is survived by 2 sons: Marlin Johnson of Marion, OH and Kevin Johnson of Jenkins; 1 daughter: Natisha Wetherill of Fishers, IN; 3 sisters: Emma Lee Warren of Gloucester, Va, Linda Jean Newsome of Dunham and Elizabeth Gibson of Dalton, GA; 3 brothers: Chase Johnson of Dalton, GA, Albert Johnson of Dunham and Teddy Bear Johnson of Dunham; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

There will be a visitation beginning at 11:00am this morning, Saturday. 

Funeral services for George Frank Johnson will follow at 1:00pm on this afternoon, Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Burdine Freewill Baptist Church with Greg Polly and Van Webb officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Johnson – Sanders Cemetery at Dunham. 

The Hall and Jones Funeral Home, Jenkins Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. 

Polly Johnson Potter

Polly Johnson Potter, age 94, of Jenkins, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center. 

She is survived by 2 grandchildren: Shelby Daylong and Tommy Bolling; 5 great grandchildren: Tyler Daylong, Kayla Longstreath, Shawn Bolling, B.J. Allen and Bethany Pelfrey.

Funeral services for Polly Johnson Potter will be held at 12:00 Noon, today, Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Leonard Lowrey officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Haven of Rest Cemetery at Mayking.

Elizabeth Ann Kiser, age 67, of McRoberts, passed away Friday, January 19, 2024, at her residence. 

She is survived by her husband: Reno Kiser; 2 daughters: Rebecca Ann Baker and Kayla Elizabeth Stanley; 3 step kids: April Dawn Abdoo, Shane Reno Kiser and Seth Adam Kiser; 2 brothers: Greg Ratliff and Brad Ratliff; 1 sister: Ervalene Odom; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service for Elizabeth Ann Kiser will be held at 2:00pm this afternoon, Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the McRoberts First Missionary Baptist Church with Danny Quillen and Bill Craft officiating.

Jennifer Lynn Metcalf, age 65, of Cumberland passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024  at the Pikeville Medical Center.

She is survived by her children: Tracy Devore, Ronald Neal, Jessica Neal Dawn Metcalf and Dalton Metcalf; step-children: Michelle Metcalf and April Howell; 1 brother: David Roark; 1 brother-in-law: Tom Hummell; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service for Jennifer Lynn Metcalf will be held from 1:00 to 3:00pm this afternoon, Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Tri City Funeral Home at Benham.
