Harold Glen “Bull” Collins

Harold Glen “Bull” Collins, age 93, of Rockhouse passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the Whitesburg ARH.

He is survived by his second wife: Brenda Fields Collins; 5 sons: Jerry Glen Collins of Cowan, Greg Collins, Orville Collins, Wayne Collins all of Rockhouse and Danny Collins of Hilo, Hawaii; 8 grandchildren: Heather Caudill, Glen Collins, Talmadge Collins, Darla Collins, Olivia Proffitt, Danny Collins, Owen and Kane; 7 great grandchildren and special friend: Kim Maggard.

Visitation will be after 6:00pm Friday, January 2, 2025 at the Letcher Independent Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Harold Glen “Bull” Collins will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, January 3, 2025 at the Letcher Independent Baptist Church with Bill Jones and Roy Slone officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Earn Collins Cemetery at Rockhouse.

Henry Allen Herron

Henry Allen Herron, age 75, of Kingscreek, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at the Whitesburg ARH. 

He is survived by 2 sons: Dustin Allen Herron of Kingscreek and Brandon Herron of Erwin, Tennessee; 1 sister: Bernice Lucas of Whitesburg; 4 grandchildren: Sharon Herron, Brandon Herron, Elijah Herron and Lucas Herron. 

Visitation will be after 6:00pm this evening, Thursday, January 1, 2025 at the Kingscreek Community Church.

Funeral services for Henry Allen Herron will be held at 11:00am Friday, January 2, 2025 at the Kingscreek Community Church with Roger Fields and Jimmy Dotson officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Kingdom Come Cemetery.

Thomas (T.R.) Tyree

Thomas (T.R.) Tyree, age 86, of Smoot Creek, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at the Letcher Manor Nursing Home in Whitesburg.

He is survived by his wife: Mary Tyree of Smoot Creek, 2 sons: Tommy Tyree of Oxford, Ohio and Jimmy Tyree of Emmalena, KY; 1 sister: Geraldine Garland; one grandson Josh Tyree and three great grandchildren, Grayson, Finnley, and Elliott Tyree all of Bottom Fork.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm this evening, Thursday, January 1, 2026 at the Letcher Funeral Home in Whitesburg.  

Funeral services for Thomas (T.R.) Tyree will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 2, 2026 at the Letcher Funeral Home with Josh Tyree officiating.

Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.

Patricia Ann Henderson, age 70, of Hallie, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the Hazard Health and Rehab Center.

She is survived by 1 son: Farron Sidebottom of Edmonton, KY; 1 brother: David Sparkman of Hallie; 1 sister: Rita Herslip of Hazard; 1 grandson: Christopher Sidebottom; 1 granddaughter: Victoria Shook; 2 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter.

Services for Patricia Ann Henderson will be held at a later date.

Lindell Dale “Cigar” Sturgill, age 81 l, of Deane, passed away Monday, December 29, 2025 at his residence. 

He is survived by 1 son: Landis Bentley of Deane; 1 daughter: Stephanie Short of Jackhorn; 1 brother: Bruce Sturgill of Colson; 2 sisters: Nevada Brewer of Hazard and Barbara Jean Thomas of Smoot Creek; 4 grandchildren and special friends: Tonya and Tim.

Paul Fleming Sr., age 76, of Jackhorn passed away Monday December 29, 2025, at his residence. 

He is survived by his wife: Nellie Fleming; two sons; Paul Fleming Jr. and Joshua Arnold; one daughter: Vanessa Fleming; one sister: Carol Wainscott; two brothers in-law: Herbert Bentley and Robert Bentley, 5 grandchildren and one niece.

Funeral services for Paul Fleming Sr. will be held at 1:00pm, this afternoon, Thursday, January 1, 2026 at the Hall and Jones Funeral Home, Jenkins Chapel with Chris Fleming officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Bertha Bentley Cemetery at Boone Mountain.

Lon Caudill, age 89, of Hazard, formerly of Letcher County, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at the Hazard ARH. 

He is survived by: Two Sisters: Della Sparkman & Alice Fizer; Two Brothers: Jack Caudill & Bobby Ray Caudill and Two Sisters-In-Law: Phyllis Caudill & Valerie Caudill. 

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM, Friday, January 2, 2026 at Maggard’s Mountain View Chapel in Hazard.

Funeral services for Lon Caudill will follow at 1:00pm Friday, January 2, 2026, at Maggard’s Mountain View Chapel in Hazard with Kenny Salmons & Jared Salmons officiating. 

Burial will follow in the McIntyre Family Cemetery at Viper.
