Aretta “Charlie” Scott, age 71, of Cumberland, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Whitesburg ARH.
She is survived by her husband: Jimmy Scott; 1 son: Jimmy Scott of Cumberland; 1 daughter: Teresa Bledsoe of Cumberland; honorary daughter: Easter Blanton; 1 brother: Harrison Thomas of Corbin; 4 sisters: Gertrude Davis, Tammy Boggs, Kathy Craft all of Tennessee, and Imogene Smith of Camp Branch; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Aretta “Charlie” Scott will be held at 5:00pm on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the ECCO Chapel at Eolia.

Loretta Shepherd Polly, age 83, of Slemp, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024, at her residence.
She is survived by 1 Daughter: Jackie Shepherd of Cornettsville; 2 Sons: Claborne Shepherd of Slemp & Joe Polly of Slemp; 4 Sisters: Opha Shepherd of Cornettsville, Carol Ison of Cornettsville, Lorene Dixon of Letcher County & Delana Sue Lee of South Carolina; 3 Brothers: Burnis Shepherd of Little Leatherwood, Eli Shepherd of Letcher County & Bob Shepherd of Cornettsville; 6 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild.
Visitation will be from 11:00am-12:00 noon on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Maggard’s Mountain View Chapel in Hazard.
Funeral service for Loretta Shepherd Polly will follow at 1:00pm, Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the Maggard’s Mountain View Chapel with Charles Bush officiating.
Burial will follow in the Shepherd Riddle Cemetery at Little Leatherwood.
