Jacketta “Jackie” Shepherd Lucas

Jacketta “Jackie” Shepherd Lucas, age 79, of Whitesburg, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024, at her residence.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Tammie Cook of Dry Fork and Nina Dzierzek of Isom; 2 brothers: Alex Shepherd of Richmond, Indiana and Billy Shepherd of Morristown, Tennessee; 4 sisters: Nancy Thompson of Pound, Virginia, Angie Maggard of Eolia, Ina Shepherd of Richmond, Indiana, and Anna Anderson of St. Petersburg, Florida; 10 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Jacketta “Jackie” Shepherd Lucas will be held at 1:00pm Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Jack Howard officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm-10:00pm on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in the Lucas Cemetery at Pistol City.

The Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg is in charge of the arrangements.

Jimmie Adams

Jimmie Adams, age 78, of Redfox, KY, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at his residence.

He is survived by his wife: Barbara Ann Adams; 2 Daughters: Melissa Slone and Kara Sexton; one grandchild; 2 sisters: Elva Arnold and Jacqueline Himes; 5 Brothers: Danny Adams, Jerry Adams, Rodney Adams, Wayne Adams and Ricky Adams.

Funeral services for Jimmie Adams will be held at 11:00am Saturday November 30, 2024 at the Mt. Olivet Old Regular Baptist Church in Blackey with Elwood Cornett and Toby Breeding officiating.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-9:00pm Friday, November 29, 2024 at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel in Hindman with an additional service at 7:00pm with Don Pratt and Austen Whitaker officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hampton Cemetery at Jeremiah.

The Hindman Funeral Services of Hindman is in charge of the arrangements.

Lou Ellen Harris Baker

Lou Ellen Harris Baker, age 72, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024.

She is survived by two children: Della Baker of Putney and Jamie Baker of Benham; three sisters: Joann Combs of Cumberland, Edith Widner of Partridge and Glenda Cleaver of Western, KY; two granddaughters and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00pm Friday, November 29, 2024 at the Tri City Funeral Home at Benham.

Funeral services for Lou Ellen Harris Baker will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Tri City Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Peaceful Branch Cemetery at Gordon.

The Tri City Funeral Home of Benham is in charge of the arrangements.

Wendell Wright

Wendell Wright, age 83, of Owl Branch at Dorton passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center.

He is survived by his wife: Augustine Coleman Wright; two sons: Tommy Wright of Dorton and David Mullins of Pikeville; two daughters: Jennifer Wright of Dorton and Tammy Ratliff of Jenkins; one brother: Randy Wright of Dorton; one sister: Janice Cable of TN; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be after 6:00pm this evening, Thursday November 28, 2024 at the Hall and Jones Funeral Home at Virgie with services starting nightly at 7:00pm.

Funeral services Wendell Wright will be held at 1:00pm Friday November 29, 2024 at the Hall and Jones Funeral Home of Virgie with Jay Davidson and Tim Tackett officiating.

Burial will follow in the Gerald Wright Memorial Cemetery at Owl Branch at Dorton.

The Hall and Jones Funeral Home of Virgie is in charge of the arrangements.

Ronnie “Rob” Gibson, age 58, passed away on Tuesday November 26, 2024 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard.

He is survived by his wife: Debbie Gibson of Happy; 1 daughter: Morgan Gibson of Viper; 1 step-daughter: Diana Feltner of Sassafras; 1 brother: Randy Combs of Nicholasville; 3 sisters: Connie Mullins of Happy, Kaye Rice of Lexington and Donna Gibson of Letcher County; half-sister, Sylvia Holmes of Berea; 2 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two special friends, Frank Combs & Charlie Johnson.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Ronnie “Rob” Gibson will be held at a later date.
