Eva Franklin Sexton

Eva Franklin Sexton, age 76, of Pinetop, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard.

She is survived by 2 sons: Darrel Sexton of Pinetop and L.D. Sexton of Doty Creek; 1 daughter: Mae Lynn Jones of Viper; 6 grandchildren: Darrel Sexton II, Dustin Bradshaw, Jacob Bradshaw, Matthew Adams, Ashley Sexton Mullins and Montana Sexton and 7 great grandchildren. 

Visitation will be after 6:00pm this evening, Thursday, and after 6:00pm tomorrow, Friday, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Funeral services for Eva Franklin Sexton will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Donnie Enfusse officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.

The Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg is in charge of the arrangements.

Teresa Jo Combs Cornett

Teresa Jo Combs Cornett, age 69, of Linefork, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at the Norton Community Hospital in Norton, Virginia. 

She is survived by her husband: Arthur Bee Cornett of Linefork; 1 son: Henry Edward Cornett “Eddie” of Osgood, Indiana and 1 daughter: Felicia Kindler of Texas; 1 grandson: Joe Cornett of Linefork and 1 sister: Carylon Combs and 1 brother: Henry Edward Combs of Indiana.

Visitation will be after 6:00pm this evening, Thursday, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services for Teresa Jo Combs Cornett will be held at 12:00 Noon tomorrow, Friday, October 24, 2025 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Jay Halcomb and Wallace Bolling officiating.

Burial will follow in the Cornett Cemetery at Linefork.

The Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg is in charge of the arrangements.

William “Dubby” Brashear

William “Dubby” Brashear, age 70, of Viper, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at his residence. 

He is survived by his wife: Wavelene Brashear; Two Sons: Joseph Adam Nantz of South Carolina & Gary Wayne Nantz of Somerset, KY; Two Sisters: Annis Mullins of Viper & Donna Hurt of Viper; One Brother: Jay Brashear of Viper; Three Grandchildren: Tanner, Starla & Nathaniel Nantz and One Great Grandchild.

No Services will be held at this time for William “Dubby” Brashear
