Van O’Neal Webb Jr.

Van O’Neal Webb Jr., age 69 of Ermine, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard. 

He is survived by his wife: Teresa Webb; 1 daughter: Heather Howard of Middlesboro; 1 son: Josh Webb of Louisiana; 1 brother: Jimmy Burke Webb of Florence, Alabama; 1 sister: Pam Pratt of Ermine; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. 

A Celebration of Life for Van O’Neal Webb Jr. will be held at a later date. 

The Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg is in charge of the arrangements. 


Loretta Hawkins

Loretta Hawkins, age 86, of Neon, passed away

Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Letcher Manor Nursing Home.

She is survived by her husband: Charles Hawkins; three sons: Jeff Hawkins of Neon, Gregg Hawkins of Mayking and Richard Hawkins of Neon; one brother: Harold Cantrell of Liberty; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be after 11:00am Thursday, March 5, 2026 at the Hall and Jones Funeral Home, Jenkins Chapel.

Funeral services for Loretta Hawkins will follow at 1:00pm Thursday at the Hall and Jones Funeral Home, Jenkins Chapel. 

Burial will follow in the Rob Ratliff Cemetery in Elkhorn.

Hall and Jones Funeral Home, Jenkins Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. 


Virginia Madelyn Isaac

Virginia Madelyn Isaac, age 72, of McRoberts,, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mount Sterling, KY.

She is survived by two daughters: Autumn Isaac of Richmond and Trisha Tackett of Jenkins; Four sons: Roger “Red” Isaac of Mt. Sterling,

Adam Isaac of Mt. Sterling, Devin Isaac of Mt. Sterling and Ernie Isaac of Winchester; Three sisters: Ernestine Wright of Dorton, Geneva Potter of Shelby Gap and Sherry Christ of Charleston, West Virginia; One brother: Jeff Tackett of Jenkins; Ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be after 6:00pm this evening, Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at the Old Elkhorn Regular Baptist Church in Jenkins. 

Funeral services for Virginia Madelyn Isaac will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at the Old Elkhorn Regular Baptist Church, with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating.

Burial will follow in the Isaac Cemetery at McRoberts.

The Everidge Funeral Home of Whitesburg is in charge of the arrangements. 


Raymond Allen Brown

Raymond Allen Brown, age 82, of Dry Fork, passed away Friday February 27, 2026, at his residence. 

He is survived by his wife: Beryl Preston Brown; 1 son: Dale Brown; 1 daughter: Connie Sturgill; 6 sisters: Vera Adams, Barbara Collins, Shelia Cornett, Brenda Sumners, Shirley Belcher, and Vonda Cook; 2 grandchildren: Destiny Hall and Carla Sturgill and 1 great grandchild to be: Lincoln Reed Hall.

Funeral Services for Raymond Allen Brown will be at 11:00am this morning, Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Dock Frazier officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery at Dry Fork.
