Ruth Ingram Frazier

Ruth Ingram Frazier, age 99, of Kingscreek, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at her residence

She is survived by 4 daughters: Sharon Banks of Irvine, KY, Brenda Combs of Kingscreek, Cilla Fields of Linefork and Connie Hogg of Kingscreek; 1 brother: Anderson Jay Ingram of Columbus, IN; a daughter-in-law: Sue Frazier of Linefork; 11 grandchildren: Dewayne, Tim, Kevin, Angie, Andrea, Tina, Leslie, Roberta, Brian, Katie and Ashley; 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Funeral services for Ruth Ingram Frazier will be held at 1:00pm this afternoon, Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at the Defeated Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Roger Fields, Elwood Cornett, Don Pratt, Jim Fields and Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating.

Burial will follow in the Frazier Cemetery at Linefork.

The family requests in lieu of flowers to donate to the Defeated Creek Old Regular Baptist Church.

James Earl Polly, age 48, of Isom, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at his residence. 

He is survived by his mother: Linda Polly of Whitesburg; his wife: Angel Polly of Isom; 1 daughter: Kristen Russell of Isom and 1 sister: Christy Adams of Ermine. 

Funeral services for James Earl Polly will be held at 12 noon today, Wednesday, at the Everidge Funeral Home with Frank Adams and Jimmy Turner officiating.

Burial will follow in the RB Caudill cemetery at Whitco.

Tommy Wayne Combs

Tommy Wayne Combs, age 78, of Letcher, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the Hazard ARH. 

He is survived by his wife: Nettie Mosley Combs; 1 son: Tommy Wayne “Mattie” Combs Jr. of Somerset; 1 daughter: Angela Adams of Letcher; 1 sister: Gaythlee Terrell of New York; 4 grandchildren: Dalton Wayne Combs, William Jacob Collins, Andrew Layne Collins, Landon Grace and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Tommy Wayne Combs will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the Jeremiah Missionary Baptist Church with Caleb Combs officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Combs Family Cemetery at Letcher. 

Visitation will be held all day today, Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the Jeremiah Missionary Baptist Church.

April Dawn Estep Barber, age 43, of Cumberland, passed seat on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the Pikeville Medical Center.

She is survived by two sons: Andrew and Aaron Barber of Cumberland; her mom and dad, Debbie and David Estep of Cumberland; one brother, Chris Estep of Knoxville, TN; two nieces, Skyler and Abby Cate Estep of New York; one nephew, Grady Estep of Knoxville, TN; her ex-husband, Drew Barber of Cosby, TN; sister-in-law, Kristin Stewart of Knoxville, TN; three aunts, Tammy Day of Cumberland; Sandra York of Beattyville, KY; and Sheila Collins of Stanton, KY; one uncle, Jackie Estep of Winchester.

Visitation will be at 12 noon today, Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the Blair Chapel Church in Cumberland.

Funeral services for April Dawn Estep Barber will follow at 4:00pm this afternoon, Wednesday at the Blair Chapel Church with Rod Raleigh officiating.

Burial will follow at the Charlie Maggard Cemetery at Blair.

Anthony Wayne Cornett, Sr., age 63, of Linefork passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025, at his residence.

He is survived by 1 son: Anthony Wayne Cornett, Jr., of Henderson, KY; a brother: Charlie Cornett of Loyall; a sister,: Tammy Wilson of Cumberland and a granddaughter on the way.

Visitation will be after 5:00pm on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the Linefork House of Prayer.

Funeral services for Anthony Wayne Cornett, Sr. will be held at 1:00pm Friday at the Linefork House of Prayer with Patrick Shepherd officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Cornett Family Cemetery at Linefork.

Bruce Akers, age 78 of Dorton, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio. 

He is survived by two children: Cathy Sue Clay of Ewing, KY and Walter Thomas Akers of Covington, KY; two brothers and two sisters. Clearance Akers of Dorton, Paul Akers of Dorton, Betty Lou Hall of Dorton,and Wanda Bailey of Barboursville, WV; sister-in-law Sue Akers of Busy and brother-in-law: Dr Bill Collins of Whitesburg; four grandchildren: Lauren Nicole Jenkins, Bethany Paige Rudd, Michael Alexander Akers, and Hayden Joshua Akers and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Bruce Akers will be held at 10AM Thursday, August 14, 2025 at the Dorton Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Osborne Cemetery at Dorton. 

Visitation will begin after 6:00pm this evening, Wednesday, at the Dorton Old Regular Baptist Church with services beginning at 7:00pm.
