Thursday was day two of the 2024 KHSAA Boys Sweet 16 at Rupp Arena in Lexington and another mountain team has advanced to the quarterfinals.
In the opening game of the day, 13th Region champions, the Harlan County Black Bears beat defending state champion Warren Central 67-59.
South Carolina commit Trent Noah led Harlan County with 35 points and 11 rebounds along with 15 points from Maddox Huff.
Also on Thursday, Evangel Christian beat Butler County 71-60, Trinity got Pulaski County 50-43 and Campbell County upset Newport 43-40.
Today in the quarterfinals, the other mountain team, 15th Region champ Magoffin County will take on Great Crossing HS at 11:00am this morning.
Harlan County will take on Campbell County out of northern Kentucky at 6:00pm this evening.
Also today at 1:30pm Lyon County will face Adair County at 8:30pm Evangel Christian will face Trinity.
The semifinals will be at 11:00am and 1:30pm tomorrow with the championship game Saturday night at 7:30pm.
