Man Arrested After Manhunt That Placed Two Knott County Schools on Lockdown

The suspect has been captured in a manhunt that put two Knott County schools on safety lockdowns Wednesday. Kentucky State Police had been searching for David Mathews who is now charged with two counts of kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. WYMT reports Knott County Central High School and Hindman Elementary School were both on soft lockdown while police were searching for Mathews following an apparent domestic violence dispute near the high school
