A man alleged to have multiple DUI arrests is facing felony charges for a car crash in Perry County. The Hazard Herald cites a January 13 Sheriff’s Office report indicating Nathanial Hatfield of Grayson County had been involved in a crash and allegedly tried to leave the scene but slammed into the mountainside. Deputies at the scene claim there was an open alcoholic beverage in his car and that he smelled strongly of alcohol. He was charged with assault, wanton endangerment, and DUI fourth or greater offense, with court documents showing Hatfield had DUI convictions in 2017, 2019 and 2020.
