We’re learning more about the arrest of a Whitesburg woman accused of kidnapping and attempting to kill her daughter’s mother-in-law. Tonya Renee Mullins was arrested. Documents obtained by the Mountain Eagle show several people were involved in the alleged December 30 kidnapping of Melissa Riddell who was allegedly tortured and threatened, including with a loaded gun to her head and pills she was forced to swallow. Riddell was reportedly able to escape after about 16 hours and eventually went to police. Kentucky State Police and Letcher County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Mullins on Friday. She was being held on $150,000 cash bond.
