Letcher County has a new economic development center built inside a classic Whitesburg building. On Tuesday Pine Mountain Partners, Letcher County Tourism, and EKY Heritage Foundation held a grand opening for their new home at the Ermine School. Missy Matthews, who is Chairman of Letcher County Tourism and President of EKY Heritage Foundation, tells WYMT the County is very proud of its historic buildings and Italian stone masonry so it’s of great value to give new life to the 1944 building. Judge Executive Terry Adams says the two year process to rehab the building and get the three groups together will pay off because he says collaboration gets things done.
