A New York man wanted in an alleged east coast scam against Walmart has been captured in Pikeville.
Constantin Lacatus was arrested at the Pikeville Walmart while in an attempt to get a clerk to put $2500 on a prepaid card.
Police allege he had been using a series of fake names and multiple transactions designed to confuse clerks and had so far succeeded in short-changing 61 Walmarts out of nearly $100,000 until he was stopped in Pikeville.
He is so far charged with identity theft and theft by deception.
