Officials Look at The Idea of a 4 Year University in Hazard

State and Local officials are floating the idea of creating a four-year university in Eastern Kentucky, possibly in Hazard. WYMT reports last spring the Council of Postsecondary Education did a study on whether the region could host a public, four-year, residential university and the study concluded Hazard could be the best location. Rather than build a new school from scratch the study determined the best course of action would be to convert Hazard Community and Technical College into a stand-alone university.
