Letcher County officials say a preliminary count shows there are enough signatures on petitions to put a county-wide wet/dry vote on the ballot in November.
The Letcher County Clerk told the Mountain Eagle that so far there are more than enough verified signatures representing more than 20% of all the people who voted last time.
Last month Fleming-Neon voters said yes to the sale of alcohol in city limits joining Jenkins
and Whitesburg.
But as a whole, Letcher is still a dry county.
