Owsley County and Pikeville Girls Win Opening Round Games at All A State Tournament

The Kentucky GIRLS All State Tournament got underway Wednesday at the Corbin Arena.

14th Region champion Owsley County opened the tournament with a early morning convincing 61-37 win over Cumberland County. 

The Lady Owls advance to the elite 8 where they will take on Covington Holy Cross who beat Whitefield Academy 68-30.

The Owsley County-Covington Holy Cross second round game will be Friday morning at 8:30am at the Corbin Arena.  

The two other girls mountain teams faced each other and 15th Region champion Pikeville beat 13th Region winner Harlan 61-41. 

Pikeville will face Crittenden County in the second round Friday at 1:00pm.   Crittenden County beat Lexington Christian 56-53 in the opening round. 

The Boys All A State Tournament begins today at the Corbin Arena.  

14th Region champion, Breathitt County will take on Danville Christian at 10:00am this morning, 13th Region winner Williamsburg will play Murray at 6:30pm tonight.  

15th Region All A champion Pikeville will play Caverna in the state All A Tournament at 8:00pm tonight.
