Perry County Sheriff Joe Engle has filed paperwork to run for Perry County Judge

It’s a shift from his stance in September when he said he would step away as Sheriff to run for county office but then reversed that decision and said he would serve out his term.
The Hazard Herald cites an announcement from Engle Wednesday on social media in which he says he tried to talk himself out of it because it is a “heavy load”, but he was approached by many people in the county asking him to run.
